We celebrated Aboriginal and Torre Strait Islander Children's Day on 4th August 2021 with a range of cultural awareness activities.
At our daily Yarning Circle, we sang "Taba Naba", "Inanay" and "gawarn, bagaroo, baring, barang djinang" songs in Yorta Yorta language and Woi-wurrung Language, acknowledging the traditional custodians of the Australian land.
We explored and experienced the Aboriginal Painting culture, discovering the meanings and representations of colours, flags, animals and symbols.
We were immersed in Aboriginal traditions, learning and feeling the joy of music, community and celebration of life and land.
Through this learning experience, we aim to build our children's ability to understand, communicate with and effectively interact with people across cultures and heritages.
